NEW THIS WEEK:

Salute to the Seasons

As the autumn leaves are crunching underfoot in our part of the world, and spring flowers are making their debut in the southern hemisphere, it seems appropriate to pay homage to the breadth of seasons that mark time for us all.

The cycle of the seasons presents itself this week in designs that depict everything from a panoramic landscape to comic characters, and garden flowers to apple trees -- all through the seasons. No matter where you live, no matter what season you are in, these designs make for timely stitching.

Table decor perfect for every season.  Click here for project instructions .

Here in Minnesota, the beautiful colors of autumn are beckoning us to leave our backyards (leaf-raking and all) and hit the trails to enjoy the lakes and woodlands before the first snows of winter.
To help us dress the part, designs featuring wildlife in natural habitat are the perfect complement for shirts, caps, and bags for you and all your favorite campers, birders, or sportsmen. The images include all the birds and animals you might see in the woodsy setting of a wilderness cabin: waterfowl, pheasants, grouse, and wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, moose, elk, and bear.

And, on your trek, you'll want to take along your faithful canine companions. For shirts and hats, this week's designs also feature sporting dogs like Labrador retrievers, the golden retriever, and the Brittany spaniel. Get in gear, get out the gear, and let's get hiking!

As autumn leaves fall all around, this perky cardinal busies himself in closing up the cabin for the season. A colorful design that is equally beautiful on everything from shirts to totes.

Available in two sizes:
 5.85"X7.16" and 4.85"X5.92"

This clever panorama of a country scene takes us through the seasons. Each panel extends the view from fencepost to fencepost and from season to season. It's a parade through time, from spring's rejuvenation to summer's abundance, and on to golden autumn and the quiet of a winter hillside.  A beautiful effect when sewn and framed together in sequence.
Tiny budding leaves and fresh furrows foretell the awakening of spring on a country farmstead.   Sheep graze in the lush pasture above a brook while summer crops burst forth from the fields.

They say the devil is in the details, and it's true that it can be difficult to maintain life-like detail in small designs. The wildlife designs paired in this series are especially created to hold the tiniest detail, and that makes them very versatile. Use the larger design on shirts or bags; the matching smaller design will be outstanding on caps and hats, or wherever you want an understated look.

Sporting Dogs
Dogs of all kinds just love to run in the big outdoors. With a keen sense of smell, their noses are busy sniffing out everything of interest. Retrievers and spaniels will dive into water with no trepidation. Their eyes have large pupils and a wide field of vision, and this makes them very good at following moving objects. These dogs, so valuable to early human beings in their hunt for food in marshy territories, for centuries have been trained to assist human kind. Today, the thrill of the hunt still lives in these dogs, and they find it great sport to go along on every hike or hunting expedition.
