We had a lot of fun creating new frayed-frame designs. This watering can has a satin stitch border around the outside. We sewed the design on denim, and then cut around the outside of the frame, leaving about one inch. Then we frayed the denim - the satin stitch frame stops the fray. Imagine the depth and dimension that this design will add to jackets, totes, towels, and pillows! You can easily sew the watering can without the frame border and frayed effect - just skip the last color stop.

A new concept in applique embroidery allows you to savor the symmetry in spring creatures. The left side of the box is fabric-filled; the right side is stitch- filled. The left side of the feature is stitch-filled; the right side is fabric-filled. Ladybug-patterned fabric was used as an applique piece for the left square, left dots, and right wing.
