About Us

Which format should I order?

If you are unsure as to which format to order, you can do three things: check your owners manual, call your dealer, or visit our FREE page. Download the formats from that page, and try with your software and machine to ensure compatibility. Below is list of formats, and the machines that read the formats. If you dont find your machine listed below, please write to stitch@emblibrary.com, and well gladly add it.

DST format: Tajima, Barudan, Toyota, Innovis, Brother ULT, PR-600, SWF
EXP format: Stellar, Melco, some Singer
HUS format: Husqvarna/Viking machines (excluding the Designer 1)
PCS format: Pfaff machines
VIP format: Pfaff and Viking machines (excluding the Designer 1)
PES format: Brother, Babylock, Deco, Singer
SEW  format: New Home, Janome series 9500 and lower, Elna, Kenmore

JEF

format: Janome 10000, 10001, and 300E
ART  format: Bernina Artista, Deco

The Designer 1 machine reads the SHV format. We do not offer the SHV format at this time. The SHV format can be created by using the Disk Manager/Customizer software. This software is available for purchase through a Husqvarna dealer.

Singer machines use XXX or PSW format, but most can also read PES. Visit the FREE page and download the formats there to test in your Singer machine to ensure compatibility.

Artista machines use different versions. The Embroidery Library offers .art version 3 and 4. The difference is in release dates; version 4 is more recent than version 3.  If you don't know which version your machine reads, download both versions from the Free Designs page and test both in your machine to see which works best.
