Deck the halls for the holidays (or the front door, entryway, and more!) with this sweet candy cane wreath. A freestanding lace snowflake creates the perfect accent to the white and red candies.

Project Needs & Notes:

- 20 candy canes (standard size candy canes; about 6" long)
- 1/4 yard felt
- Medium-weight (2.5 ounce) cutaway stabilizer
- Temporary spray adhesive
- Double-sided fusible web
- Hot glue and gun
- Small metal or plastic lid about 3" in diameter
- 1" wide ribbon (for ties and hanger)
- Small pieces of candy (optional)

Hoop a piece of felt with medium-weight cutaway stabilizer.

Attach the hoop to the machine, load the design, and embroider the design.

Next, add one piece of double-sided fusible web to the backside of the embroidered piece.

Place the embroidered piece on top of another piece of felt and smooth in place.

Using a pressing cloth and an iron, press the felt to activate the fusible web.

Cut out the shape, trimming about 1/4" out from the outer edges of the embroidery.

To assemble the wreath, using hot glue, pair up the candy canes (so they are facing one another as shown) and glue the ends together.

You can also add small pieces of candy to each candy cane pair.

Lay the lid flat with the wrong side facing up.

Add drops of hot glue to the lid and press the bottom ends of the candy canes in place with the wrong sides of the candy canes facing up.

Next, cut small strips of 1" wide ribbon, wrap them around the candy canes, and glue in place.

Turn the wreath over to the front.

Add hot glue to the front of the lid and press the embroidered piece in place.

Cut a length of ribbon, thread it through the top candy canes, and tie a knot at the ends of the ribbon.
