Susi made this terrific tree skirt
with the Santas in Embroidery Library's
World Santas Pack. She embroidered the designs on white
flannel using her Viking Designer I and added the lettering
for each country with Viking's 3D embroidery software. We
loved the result, and Susi was happy to share about how she
put it all together.
"I precut the ten panels to accurately
place each design. I layered each panel with batting and a
plaid backing and quilted them using a meandering stitch.
Then I bound the side edges of each panel leaving the top
and bottom plain. I joined the ten panels by using an edge
joining stitch. When all ten panels were assembled into the
circle (leaving one edge open), I put the same binding on
the top and bottom of the entire circle, leaving ends
(approximately 10 inches long) which could then be tied at
back of the tree."
Thank you, Susi, for sending us this
inspiring idea! Santa will be compelled to leave wonderful
treats for you under the tree as a show of appreciation for
this beautiful tree skirt.
