Ragged Reel Quilt

Tina created this fantastic rag quilt, stitched with repeated embroidery for an elegant effect. She writes...

"I was so inspired by Winnie's rag quilts that I decided to have a go at making one; however, I did not want to go out and buy new flannel for my first attempt. I raided my stash of fabric and came up with some cotton fabrics that had been sitting around for at least the last ten years. Since I did not have any flannel for the middle I decided to use up all the pieces of quilt batting that were also lying around in my sewing room. I was so pleased with the result that I have since made a rag quilt for my mom who still lives in England. She is 83 and always complaining that she is cold. My daughter who lives in Arizona now has this quilt, she says that her husband likes to keep the house too cold (even in the winter) so this has come in very handy for her."
