Fish Fry Apron

Sometimes the ideas we get for a special project are just so unusual that all the searching in the world won't come up with the specifics we can visualize. That's when an editing program comes in handy.

Here's a wonderful example of what imagination and editing can do. The design on this cute and practical apron is a combination Karen devised. She wrote, "We have a monthly Fish Fry at our church, which has been a long-standing tradition. However, this year, a friend of ours decided to coordinate the monthly event, and I thought it very appropriate that she wear an apron so people know that 'she is in charge.'"

Karen used the Fish Fry fish and the crown from the Fairy Tale and Castle clock design. "Then," she said, "using my 3D Studio software, I deleted some fin stitches and put the crown on top. I stitched the crown in metallic thread with "ruby" jewels to match the burgundy lettering. Needless to say, our friend loved the apron, and has been wearing it proudly each month. It's amazing what a $4.50 apron can do for someone!"

Ah, yes, but more important, it's wonderful what Karen and her Designer 1 did for her friend. Swim down the page and you'll see the Fish Fry design, (without the crown).
