A Great Divide



 
Dixie Ann has truly created her very own Great Divide! Taking almost one whole winter, thousands and thousands of stitches, and two broken needles, she finished her fantastic, floral folding screen bursting with beautiful flower scenes. Dixie Ann explains how she devised her project, "The wood screen is supposed to hold 12 - 8x10 photos, but I took out the glass, and added the 12 embroidered designs, all of water devices, flowers and/or baskets. I mounted the pieces using sticky back mounting board and did some creative customizing for them to fit." The masterfully stitched designs, glowing with color, look fantastic against the dark background and equally dark woodwork. What a pretty and innovative way to use embroidery designs, Dixie Ann. Great handiwork!
