This week we kick off a celebration of winter and all its frosty and fashionable fun. Light and lovely Jacobean snowflakes swirl and twirl their way onto fleece scarves, blankets, and pullovers. Brave winter birds carry snowflakes to and fro. And adorable little critters in snowsuits and parkas bring gusts of giggles and grins to every embroidery project.

We begin our homage to the crisp and frosty season with ... well, Frosty, of course! Backyard birds make sure this snowman is dressed in fine fashion for the great outdoors. Cardinals, blue jays, and chickadees bring a scarf, hat, and corncob pipe. This flurry of activity brings a delightful slice of winter to your embroidery projects.

Snowy Juniper & Winter Chickadees

It's hard to say which winter bird is the most beloved: the cardinal, who shows off his bright red plumage against the stark, white snow, or the cheerful chickadee, who never lets snow-drifts or falling temperatures get in the way of being just plain cute. Soaring Snowbirds

Many people believe that snowflakes are ice crystals that fall from clouds that are far, far above the earth. But those with a more creative and fanciful imagination know that they're really delivered by flocks of birds who distribute these delicate creations to add peace and serenity to winter surroundings.
