It's a Wonderful Wildlife

NEW THIS WEEK:

It's a Wonderful Wildlife

When the trees and shrubs are bare and snow is blanketing the ground, our wild animal friends stand out in the landscapes of our back yards and cabin forests. This is absolutely the best time of the year for observing and appreciating wildlife.

Birds that stay in winter climates survive by eating seeds, and so it is easy to coax them closer to our windows when we set out their favorites. Few experiences are as pleasant as watching the birds arrive at the feeder outside the kitchen window while we are preparing breakfast or having a leisurely cup of coffee.

Explore winter wildlife with this
week's new designs!
Admiration for our wild friends naturally finds its expression in our embroidery art. With the designs this week, you can combine your love for wildlife and love of sewing in the beautiful things you create and share with others.

From the birds at our back door to the animals in forests near and far, the offerings will delight and inspire. Bird houses and bird feeders bring colorful splendor to winter scenes suitable for totes, wall decor, and more.  And, new door hanger designs featuring birds and humorous takes on animals (like the hibernating squirrel with a sign that says "Out Cold!") will welcome visitors to your door.

Triptych designs and diamond frames feature familiar winter birds like chickadees and cardinals, amazing raptors -- the bald eagle and snowy owl -- and intrepid animals of the wild -- wolves, moose, and bobcat. All artful creations that are excellent for shirts, jackets, and bags, as well as superb decor for woodsy environs. Enjoy the new designs, and remember: It's a wonderful wildlife!

Winter birds
People feel such an affinity for wildlife in the cold of winter. Safe in our warm houses, we watch the birds that visit our back yards, and it's just natural to want to provide for those that don't desert us for warmer climates. They delight our winter days. Watching them up close at the bird feeder endears them to us and inspires us to reproduce their antics in our embroidery art for wall decor, pillows, totes, shirts, and so much more.

Looking like little puff balls as they fluff their feathers to form an inch-thick halo of warmth on the coldest days, chickadees are among the smartest of birds. They not only stash away seeds in crevices of trees, they remember where they put them when the bird feeder runs low. A frame captures these little "clowns" of the bird feeder set as they perch in the shelter of evergreen and berry branches.
Available in two sizes:
5.81"X9.24" and 4.30"X6.85"

Cardinals among the balsam boughs lend extra color to the holiday decorations of this charming little birdhouse. It's obvious that a bird lover with imagination decorated it -- from the wreath at the door, to the holly, poinsettia, and bows on the roof, it's a masterpiece!
Available in two sizes:
5.88"X9.35" and 4.30"X6.85"

For the Birds
Realistic birds or imaginative bird houses -- they're bound to be an excellent choice for gifts for bird lovers. Sew these out on shirts and winter wear, totes or bags, table or wall decor.

Two bird feeders offer twice the fun because a variety of feeders and seeds will bring a wider variety of birds to your back yard. A blue jay stops by for a snack of black sunflower seeds at the shed feeder platform, while the agile nuthatches love to hang around at the tube feeder.
Available in two sizes:
5.81"X8.27" and 4.85"X6.89"

Fluffing up their feathers to insulate themselves from the cold of a frosty morning, chickadees and a cardinal share the welcome bounty of a birdfeeder.
Available in two sizes:
5.39"X8.89" and 4.15"X6.84"

Star, wreath, pine boughs, and tiny lights join nature's decorations -- snow-frosted crabapple limbs and crystal icicles -- to adorn a bird feeding station and its gift of sunflower seeds for the holidays.
Available in two sizes:
5.85"X8.65" and 4.67"X6.87"

A female and male cardinal find welcome shelter from winter winds in this little wooden birdhouse.
Available in two sizes:
5.84"X5.98" and 4.85"X4.94"

The bright colors of winter berries and a friendly birdhouse give warmth to this frosty scene.
Available in two sizes:

Wildlife triptychs and matching feature designs
A whole host of exciting triptych designs featuring birds and wild animals are the perfect addition to shirts, jackets, totes, and bags. And a matching "pull-out" design that echoes the central feature
can be paired with the triptych or used singly as a beautiful feature in its own right.

Cardinal Triptych
We just can't help feeling joyful whenever we hear the song of the cardinal ringing out from a high tree or see his flash of red winging over the winter landscape. You can take a little bit of this magic with you wherever you go when you sew this triptych design on a shirt, tote, or winter backpack.
Available in two sizes:
9.40"X4.64" and 6.86"X3.37"

The central feature of the triptych, the cardinal poised for flight.
Available in one size:
2.78"X3.85"

Chickadee Triptych
The adaptable little birds we see at our bird feeders really are the same ones we see in all seasons of the year. Chickadees spend their entire lives within a half-mile range. The tiny birds must eat more than their weight every day in seeds and berries remaining on winter shrubs and crabapple trees.
This triptych pays tribute to one of everyone's favorite birds.
Available in two sizes:
9.40"X4.79" and 6.85"X3.50"

The matching central feature of the triptych, the chickadee on branches of a berry bush.
Available in one size:
3.00"X3.86"

Wolf Triptych
A wolf howling and a wolf among birch trees flank a central figure of the wolf in this triptych design.
Available in two sizes:
9.41"X5.68" and 6.86"X4.15"

The central figure of the wolf waits on a snowy rock.
Available in one size:
3.40"X3.86"

Moose Triptych
A stately moose in the central design in this triptych is flanked at the left by a moose bellowing his challenge and another in the snowy winter wilderness on the right.
Available in two sizes:
9.40"X4.81" and 6.85"X3.51"

The central figure of the moose stands at the edge of a snowy marsh.
Available in one size:
3.07"X3.86"

Wildlife Diamonds
The diamond shape of log frames sets off these beautiful, wild creatures in their natural settings of mountains, forests, and snowy slopes. Wonderful designs for outdoor enthusiasts, which will be great on everything from shirts and jackets to backpacking, ski, and camping bags, as well as table, wall, or pillow decor for a woodsy home or cabin.

The majestic power of the bald eagle takes our breath away when we see him alight on a bare tree branch high above our heads. Pausing, he seems ready to take flight, but you can capture this moment in embroidery on totes, cross country back packs, ski bags, and shirts or jackets.
Available in two sizes:
7.70"X5.80" and 6.42"X4.84"

The foreground of this design -- the wolf in the snow and pine tree -- is a marvelous example of how breaking the frame gives these designs their three-dimensional quality.
Available in two sizes:
7.77"X5.85" and 6.42"X4.84"

A snowy owl with its dashing white and black markings and piercing yellow eyes perches on a stump in the forested foothills of a mountain range.
Available in two sizes:
7.77"X5.85" and 6.42"X4.84"

A bobcat turns, seeming to hear our approach, as he searches the snowy slopes for a rabbit dinner.
Available in two sizes:
7.77"X5.85" and 6.42"X4.84"
