NEW THIS WEEK - August 24th, 2011

For the Love of Literature

Free Project Instructions!

It's "Back to School" season, and shops are packed with notebooks and pens and backpacks and oodles of other necessities and treasures for the classroom-bound.

We're taking part in the back to school fun, too! New designs this week feature the love of learning, and the love of literature. New author cameos showcase famous writers and their famous (and oftentimes funny) words. Fancy fairies are captured in stitches, reading books and letting their imaginations take flight.

For the bookish and witty ones, you'll find a fantastic array of literary phrases, from the hip "Lego Ergo Sum" to the hippie "Reading is Groovy." And, for the younger set, cheery critters with their noses deep in their books are a fun way to encourage reading at a young age.

It's as easy as 1-2-3 to get these fantastic new designs. Order today, and enjoy these new designs!

E-readers are all dressed up! Kenny whipped up this crafty cover, and shares the free project instructions here!

Cameos of Classics II

Mark Twain, one of America's most famous writers and humorists, was born in 1835 as Samuel Langhorne Clemens. Known for his tongue-in-cheek and quick-and-witty repartee, Twain's words and quotes have become legend. The silhouette below captures Twain's notoriously unkempt hair and bushy moustache.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X7.94" and 4.88"X6.59"

Louisa May Alcott was born in 1832, and captured the love and hearts of generations of readers with her books Little Women, Little Men, and Jo's Boys. Along with writing, Alcott was an abolitionist, a suffragist, and worked as a teacher, seamstress, governess, and maid.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X8.01" and 4.88"X6.61"

Lewis Carroll was born in 1832 as Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. He was a mathematician, logician deacon, photographer, and writer -- with an incredible imagination and vision. His most famous works are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and the follow-up Through the Looking-Glass. Carroll pushed the art and craft of writing beyond traditional bounds with his experimentation with literary nonsense, such as Jabberwocky. The quote below is said by the Queen in Alice in Wonderland.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X7.99" and 4.88"X6.60"

John Ronald Reuel (J.R.R.) Tolkien was born in 1892. His best-known work is in the fantasy realm - most notably The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Hobbit was a story that Tolkien had written for his children, and he was taken by surprise when approached by a house that wished to publish the work. The quote below is taken from The Hobbit.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X7.99" and 4.88"X6.60"

Margaret Mitchell was born in 1900, and at the young age of 37, won a Pulitzer Prize for Gone with the Wind. More than 30 million copies of the book have been sold, and the movie won 10 Academy Awards. The quote below is said by Rhett Butler.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X7.98" and 4.88"X6.59"

Jane Austen was born in 1775, and her books about love, society, and manners provide a fascinating glimpse into the past and into the nature of humanity. Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, and Persuasion are all beloved contributions to the canon. The quote below is taken from Emma.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X8.00" and 4.88"X6.61"

Charles Dickens, born in 1812, was a prolific writer during the Victorian Era. The word "dickens" is from Shakespeare's play The Merry Wives of Windsor, and evolved to mean havoc or mischief. It's fitting that Dickens got this last name, as he was playful in his writing. He was quite serious, however, with his social commentary and criticism of government and political structures in Victorian life.

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X7.97" and 4.86"X6.59"

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was born in 1896 in Embroidery Library's home state of Minnesota! His most famous works are Tender Is the Night and The Great Gatsby. Fitzgerald had that essential Midwestern optimism, and an excellent and empathetic grasp of human nature. Along with the quote below, he also said, "Whenever you feel like criticizing any one ... just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had."

Available in two sizes:
5.88"X7.93" and 4.86"X6.55"
