New this week
Australian Animals

G'day, mates!  This week we travel to Australia, the Land of Oz.  Australia has very diverse geography:  rainforests, plains, deserts, snowfields, farmland, beautiful beaches and cosmopolitan cities.  As a result of this diversity, Australia is home to some of the most beautiful and interesting wildlife in the world.

We explore the lives of cute koalas, bouncing kangaroos, shy tigers, thorny devils, and the ever-popular Bilby.  A new track scene design features a kangaroo posed against a lush Australian backdrop, and a new track portrait features the wild dog, the Dingo.  A new jacketback design shows Ayer's Rock (Uluru), the world's largest monolith, with a kangaroo, koala, crocodile, Kookaburra, and Frill Neck Lizard leaping and jumping out of the shape of Australia.

Welcome to the Land Down Under, where, according to the gifted and talented musical group, Men At Work, visitors will always be offered a vegemite sandwich.  These designs are wonderful on shirts, jackets, and accessories for adventurous and dreamy travelers.  Enjoy the new designs!

Australia has incredibly diverse geography, from lush rainforests to
dry deserts.  The rainforests are home to many species of cute tree
frogs, like this red-eyed version.

Tree Frog

Available in two sizes:
6.81"X4.34" and 3.81"X2.44"

The kangaroo is one of Australia's emblems, and it symbolizes
progress.  Kangaroos seem to be in a constant state of motion, and
are never looking backwards.  This design features a kangaroo posed
against a serene Australian backdrop, and the scene is framed in the
shape of a kangaroo track.

Kangaroo Track Scene

Available in two sizes:
3.94"X9.81" and 2.74"X6.83"

The duck-billed platypus is found in Eastern Australia's freshwater
rivers.  With a tail like a beaver, bill like a duck, this creature is a
great underwater hunter.  While gliding through the water the
platypus stores its finds in its cheek pouches.  Once on land, the
platypus examines its finds, and then decides what to eat.

Platypus

Available in two sizes:
6.22"X5.79" and 5.14"X4.79"

The Tasmanian Devil is known for its fierce nature and bad tempers.  These
night-lovers have extremely powerful jaws, and an unusual voice that begins
in a whistle and ends in a shrieking bark.

Tasmanian Devil Scene

Available in two sizes:
6.76"X4.81" and 3.86"X2.75"

Tasmanian Devil

Available in two sizes:
5.04"X4.46" and 2.87"X2.54"

The Dingo, also known as the Warrigal and Warang, is Australia's
wild dog.  This design features a dingo head framed against a lush
background, surrounded by dingo tracks.

Dingo Track Portrait

6.02"X6.02"

A pure dingo doesn't bark.  Instead, it communicates by growling,
whining, and howling.

Dingo

Available in two sizes:
5.74"X4.82" and 3.83"X3.19"

Seeing certain animals instantly brings the beauty of Australia to mind.  This design
features the koala, kangaroo, kookaburra, crocodile, and frill-necked lizard leaping and
flying from the shape of Australia.  Ayer's Rock (Uluru), Australia's famed monolith, helps
to meld earth and sky.

Out of Australia

11.51"X9.00"

This design is quite large, so it may need to be split before sewing.  These stellar
splitters have fabulous information to help you split large designs:

The kangaroo, crocodile, kookaburra, frill-necked lizard, and koala have been separated from
the large design.  Use them as an accent to the large design, or with a different project.

Frill-Necked Lizard

A koala can eat up to one pound of eucalyptus leaves a day.  These
fragrant leaves provide most of the water that a koala needs to survive.  Koalas spend most of their lives in trees, and have strong paws and
claws for climbing.

Koala

Available in two sizes:
4.81"X5.46" and 3.41"X3.87"

Koalas have two thumbs on their front paws to help hold onto trees,
and hold onto food.

Koala

Available in two sizes:
7.24"X5.82" and 5.80"X4.66"

The Thorny Devil, also known as a Moloch, is one of the many creatures
that fills Australia's deserts with personality.  This slow-moving lizard eats between 600 and 3000 black ants for a single meal, but he prefers to eat
the ants one at a time. The desert-dweller has a unique way of drinking water:  tiny channels on his back catch morning dew and sends the
liquid into his mouth.

Thorny Devil

Available in two sizes:
4.80"X5.11" and 3.59"X3.79"

The Tasmanian Tiger, was a beautiful creature with striped fur,
stiff tail, and large head. Although the species was declared
extinct, there have been several sightings in Tasmania, giving
hope that a small number of Tasmanian Tigers still exist.

Available in two sizes:
6.80"X4.55" and 3.86"X2.59"

Bilbys are found in Australia's deserts, and are marked by long ears, snout, and tail.  The tail is bi-colored; half white, half black.  Keep your eye on this
popular fellow.  It's been rumored that the Easter Bunny might be replaced by the Easter Bilby.

Bilby Scene

Available in two sizes:
6.08"X4.80" and 3.85"X3.03"

Bilby

Available in two sizes:
5.06"X4.53" and 3.21"X2.86"

A wallaby male is called a buck, and a female is called a doe or flyer.
Baby wallabees are called joeys, like kangaroo babies.

Wallaby

Available in two sizes:
5.41"X4.83" and 3.83"X3.44"

The "frill" on the frill-necked lizard is attached to the lizard's tongue.
When the lizard feels threatened, he opens his mouth and the frill
stands up, chasing away would-be predators.

Frill-Necked Lizard

Available in two sizes:
4.96"X4.80" and 3.81"X3.70"

The Kiwi isn't an Australian bird, but while we were Down Under we thought we'd take a trip to New Zealand to check out their famous bird.  This large, flightless bird, has a long narrow beak perfect for dining on bugs and grubs.

Kiwi

Available in two sizes:
6.65"X4.80" and 3.88"X2.83"

Please check the size of the designs before you purchase them.  If you are going to split the design, then choose the size perfect for your project.  If you want to sew the design without editing or splitting,  be sure that the design's dimensions are not larger than your hoop's sewing field.

Kookaburra Christmas

Christmas Down Under means warm weather, snowmen made of sand, and kangaroos delivering gifts just like reindeer.

Kookaburras string lights from gum tree to gum tree, and a tree frog clad in a Santa-cap carefully guards a peppermint stick.  Santa plays in the surf and scuba dives to deliver gifts to those hard-to-reach creatures of the sea.
