British Birds, Bits, & Bobs

Free Project Instructions!

This week we join in England's celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, celebrating the 60th anniversary of her reign with designs inspired by all things British!

First are British birds, beautifully detailed and perfect for stitching onto pillows, quilts, and towels. Next, British birdie bungalows take historic landmarks from the United Kingdom, and turn them into fun and whimsical birdhouses.

We pay homage to English royalty, with gorgeous medleys of regal symbols backed by sketchbook-style decorations. More light-stitching designs include a Union Jack, a stag crest, a regal crown and eagle border, and more!

We also present Diamond Jubilee designs--including elegant floral symbols of the United Kingdom, and a silhouette of the Queen. The Diamond Jubilee designs are regularly priced at $1.00 each!

The red telephone box is a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom. Although there are fewer of them these days, red boxes can still be seen in current and former British colonies around the world. They were made red so they would be easy to see. The ferris wheel on the right is a giant ferris wheel on the banks of the River Thames known as the "London Eye." Birds Crossing Abbey Road

The Beatles recorded their last album, "Abbey Road," in 1969. The album's cover image of the Fab Four crossing Abbey Road has become iconic, and is one of the most famous and imitated in music history. The photographer was given only ten minutes to take the picture as he stood on a stepladder, and a policeman held up traffic. In our version of this image, the birds sport feathers matching the clothing of each Beatle in order. A unique and fun design for pillows and framed embroidery!
