Irish Wildflowers
The flowers below are all wildflowers that can be found in Ireland. Many of these species also grow in various parts of the United States. Ireland has a mild climate with a lot of rainfall and relatively little frost, so many kinds of wildflowers can grow there. Let these bright beauties bloom on tote bags, towels, wall hangings, and more! The Common Knapweed is anything but common-looking, with many small bright purple flowers over a brown bristly flower head. Despite its white color, the flower on the right is known as Blackthorn. It grows on a tree and has many medicinal uses, including treating skin conditions.

The white Mountain Avens is an arctic-alpine flowering plant that grows throughout mountainous areas, including the entire Arctic. The Bloody Cranesbill on the right is a member of the Geranium family, and its leaves turn red in autumn, giving it its dramatic name.

The delicate purple flower is a Sea Aster. "Aster" comes from the Greek work for "star," referring to the shape of the flower head. Many species of asters are popular as garden plants because of their attractive flowers, and because they can grow in all hardiness zones. The flowers on the right have the charming name of Fox-and-Cubs. They are native to alpine regions of central and southern Europe.

The delicate white flower is called Field Bindweed, and blooms from late spring to early fall in some areas. Despite its delicate appearance, this plant is very drought tolerant and thrives in poor soil. The lovely flower on the right is called Indian Balsam, or Himalayan Balsam, and is native to the Himalayas. This species can grow up to 6 1/2 feet tall!
