NEW THIS WEEK - January 17th, 2007:
Coffee Talk!
Free Project Instructions!
Transform an old suitcoat into beautiful accessories for your home and wardrobe.
Coffee and tea -- hot beverages fundamental to life -- enrich the experience of a lazy, sunny morning, complement a meeting of good friends, bolster a drive to work, and refresh us at midday.
Designs this week pay tribute to that comforting cup of coffee or tea. Quirky caffeine aficionados "espresso" themselves in illustrations of the power of java -- perfect for shirts, totes, towels, and more.
Find your favorite coffee accessories in designs that depict an espresso machine, a French press, a tall Mocha, even an antique coffee grinder. Pour a steaming mug of your favorite brew, and watch a Dollar Delight line-art design stitch out before you reach the bottom of the cup.
And if you prefer a light cup of tea to industrial-strength coffee, then climb aboard for a quick tour to check out a beautiful collection of teapots from China, Japan, England, and India.
Grab that cup o' coffee, a spot of tea, or toasty mug of cocoa, and enjoy the new designs this week.!
Dollar Delights Whether crazy about coffee or completely taken with tea, you can sip a cup while these quick-stitching line-art designs create some fast and frugal projects in your sewing room. Excellent for embellishing towels, tea cozies, and kitchen accessories. Just click on the images or links below, and add the designs to your basket -- just $1 each!
Special Request of the Week Embroidery Library is always inspired by your design suggestions, and we thank you for sending us tons of terrific ideas, which we regularly incorporate into the weekly design themes. As a way to expand on designs for specific quests, this space is dedicated to the "Request of the Week." Here is this week's request:
Seashore Story for the Nursery Deb is part of a WAHM (Work At Home Moms) group that enjoys making items for children and families. "I have many customers who like to use ocean themes for their babies' rooms," she wrote. "An octopus applique would be great to put on bibs, hooded towels, burp cloths, even diapers." This was such a good idea, we just swam with it! So here's Deb's octopus and a whole school of happy, friendly sea critters.
Deb says cloth diapers are "wonderful for the environment, economical, and healthy for baby." Her work can be found on www.madebymama.com under Deb's Diapers and Doodads.
