I can't find the Madeira thread numbers!

The color change sheets provide Madeira thread numbers. All of the numbers listed are current, active, and "real" thread numbers. To see if a thread number is "real," visit www.MadeiraUsa.com, and type the thread number into the search box. You can see the shade of color that way, too.

You - or your favorite thread supplier - might be unable to find the thread colors that we list on the color change sheet. That means that you (or your thread supplier) are referring to an abbreviated thread chart.

Madeira's full thread chart is #425. That thread card contains over 350 swatches, available in cones.  The abbreviated card is numbered #119, and is the one that usually comes with a Thread Chest. That thread card contains a smaller selection of colors that are available in spools.

If you can't find a color that is listed on the color change sheet, no worries. Just use what is convenient to you. The color change sheets that we provide for the designs give descriptions, such as "light blue" or "pine green," so you can pick between brands and manufacturers to find the colors that you want to use.

You are also welcome to use the free Thread Exchange to find more matches between brands and manufacturers.
