Janome Giga & Macro Hoops
Janome machine owners often have a Giga or Macro (MA) hoop for their machine. The common misunderstanding is that any designs can be used in these hoops, and that the hoops extend the machines' embroidery areas. No, they do not. Janome machines and embroidery areas are listed below:
A Giga Hoop (for the 10001 and lower models) has a 200 x 200 mm area. A Macro Hoop (for the 11000) has a 200 x 280 mm area. These hoops are "overlap" or "multi-position" hoops. These hoops do not change the size of the embroidery areas shown above. Designs need to be split / edited for use in these hoops. For example, if you have a Janome 11000, and you order a design that is 6 x 9 inches, you'll need to split that design first for use in the the MA / Macro Hoop. Embroidery Library does not split designs. We haven't been able to find any online instructions or reference guides for using the Giga hoops or Macro hoops. Contact Janome for instructions for using these hoops, or visit the Janome online help center and forum, which is excellent. If after reading this HELP topic you decide that you'd prefer to use smaller sizes of designs rather than wrangle the Giga or Macro Hoops, then send your order number along with the type of machine you have to us: stitch@emblibrary.com. If smaller sizes of the designs are available, we will exchange them at no charge. If smaller sizes are not available, then no exchange is possible.
