How do I download designs
from
an email?
In your order history at
www.emblibrary.com, you have the
option to download designs to your computer, or to have them sent via
email. How to download from an email sort of varies depending on which
email program you use, but here are two samples to help you get going in
the right direction.
The first example uses an email program -- Microsoft Outlook. Open the
email.
When using an email program, designs tend to
show up as attachments (see example to the right, circled in red). |
Double click on the attachment, and you
should get these two options -- to open the file, or to save it to disk.
Always choose "save," never choose "open." |
Or, right click on the attachment once.
Choose "save as." |
Choose where you'd like
to save the file. You might choose to save it to a floppy disk, and this
example shows how to select the floppy disk drive. |
Or, you can save it to
your desktop by clicking the Desktop option. |
Or, you can save it
to a specific folder by clicking that option. |
You can either keep the
same name that we have given the design, or you can name the design something
else. |
Then, click Save.
Now the design is downloaded! |
Remember that downloading is only
transferring the design to your computer or a storage device (floppy
disk, thumb drive, etc.). Opening or uploading to your machine are
separate actions.
You might use web mail, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail. The next
example shows how to download from web mail.
For webmail, the file might show up as a
link. It really varies depending on what kind of webmail program you
use. Click the link, and then follow the remaining steps shown above! |
That is exactly how you download a design. Now you can open the design
with embroidery software, or upload it to your machine via floppy disk, CD,
flash/thumb drive,
embroidery card, or direct transfer through USB cable or wireless --
that depends on how your machine receives designs.
