This error message makes
perfect sense! Adobe Acrobat Reader is not an embroidery program,
therefore it cannot open embroidery designs.
The error message occurs when your computer thinks that it should open
designs with Adobe Acrobat reader.
To resolve the problem,
you simply need to retrain your computer, and it's very easy to do.
Basically, your
computer runs different software. When you double click on a file, your
computer recognizes that as a command to open the file. Your computer
checks the extension (.hus, .dst, .zip, etc.) and then looks for a
program to use to open the design.
Somehow your computer
learned that it should use Adobe to open embroidery designs, so it
launches that program. But Adobe can't open the design, can't interpret
the data, so gives that error message.
To avoid the
error message, use an embroidery software program to open the design, as
demonstrated below:

Open your embroidery software. You
might have software like Buzz Tools, Embird, PE-Design, Customizer,
Editor, Palette, PSW, etc. |
