Embossed Embroidery

Supplies Needed: **Fabric with a nap or pile such as terrycloth or polar fleece **Medium weight cutaway stabilizer **Water soluble stabilizer **Temporary spray adhesive **Embossed design - To find Embossed Designs, visit www.EmbLibrary.com!
To begin, choose a fabric with a nap or pile such as terrycloth or polar fleece (we choose terrycloth).
Choose thread to match your fabric. To add a bit of contrast, use a slightly lighter color thread on dark towels and a slightly darker color thread on light towels.
Spray a piece of medium weight cutaway stabilizer with a bit of spray adhesive to prevent shifting. Then, smooth the fabric on top.
When working on fabrics with a high loft, like a bath towel, it's best to use a water-soluble topping.
Place the water-soluble stabilizer on top of the fabric.
Hoop all three layers together...
...and embroider the design.
When the design has finished sewing, trim the cutaway stabilizer from the back of the embroidery. Be sure to leave about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space around the design.
Then, gently remove the water soluble stabilizer from the front of the embroidery.
Use a small scissors or other sharp item to help remove any excess stabilizer. The pieces you aren't able to remove will dissolve when laundered.
