Scented Sachet
A scented sachet makes a heartfelt gift. Sew simple, in no time at all you can make a basket full of them for valentine giveaways.
Supplies Needed:
Embroidery design - Mosaic Heart.
1/4 yard of solid color fabric
1/4 yard of lace fabric
1/4 yard of tulle or bridal netting
A cup of scented potpourri
A yard of narrow ribbon
Instructions:
Sew out the embroidery design on the solid fabric.
Cut out the embroidery design, leaving about 1/4" to 3/8" around the perimeter of the design. This will be your seam allowance.
Use the cut-out design as a pattern piece to cut out the lace and net pieces.
Stack the pieces: First the embroidered fabric (right side up), then the lace piece, then the net on the top.
Stitch the pieces together along the very edge of the embroidery leaving a 2" to 3" opening for turning and stuffing.
Carefully turn the heart right side out. Be gentle and patient. The embroidered fabric is much stiffer than the net and lace. I scrunched the embroidered side to make it pliable enough to turn.
Fill the heart with scented potpourri and stitch the opening together to close.
Wrap with a ribbon bow to dress it up.
