Lunch Bag
Tote lunchtime treats to work or school with this insulated lunch bag. Lining helps keep food fresh while in transport. And reusable sacks are easy on the environment!
Mark a 9" by 31" rectangle on one end of your fabric. Then position your embroidery design 7" down from one end. That end will be the top edge of the bag, so make sure that the embroidery is oriented correctly. Sew out the design. Then, starting at the top edge, make marks on each long side to let you know where the corners of the bag will be. The first is at 11 1/2", then at 16 1/2, then at 28". The 3" that are left over will be the flap.
Cut out the rectangle, and then cut a rectangle the same size from the lining fabric. Next, cut out 2 rectangles from each fabric, 6" by 12" (these will be the sides of the bag).
Cut out one large and 2 small rectangles of the fusible fleece and fuse them to the back side of the outer fabric.
Affix the loop side of the hook and loop fastener 2" from the top of the bag front.
Now is a good time to attach the hook side of the hook and loop fastener to the right side of the flap, about 1/2" from the edge.
Baste the top edges together.
Apply the bias tape around the unfinished edges of the bag and flap with a straight or decorative stitch.
