Good Citizens get the Door Prize
Sandra needed a traveling award for good citizenship in the school library. This is the terrific door knob hanger she created. "I used felt in one of the school colors and edge-stitched in the other," she wrote. "I changed the wording to reflect what the award was for." This is a great idea, and one we're very happy to pass along to others.
Each week, her bookworm traveling award goes to the class that was best behaved in the library the previous week. Sandra reports: "The award has gone most often to one of the kindergarten or first or fifth grade classes." "Good citizenship" means "students go about their business in the library without causing any disruption, and with as little talking as possible." Exceptional helpfulness counts, too, she says.
