Neck Pillow

Neck Pillow

Give yourself some rest and relaxation with a comfortable neck pillow. Great for traveling, and also perfect for those that tend to catnap when watching television or pretending to read a book.
Supplies needed:
  • Embroidery design--we used a Football design.
  • 1/3 yard of solid color fabric
  • 1/3 yard of sport print fabric
  • Polyfill stuffing
  • Thread
  • Pattern for neck pillow: Click here for a printer-friendly version of this pattern.

Instructions:
Cut out pattern piece. Then lay the pattern out for the left side of the pillow and trace around it.  Then flip the pattern and trace the right side in the same manner so that the entire outline is on the fabric.  Do not cut it out yet.  Position the embroidery designs about two inches from the ends and centered on each end of the pillow.

Sew out the embroidery designs on the solid fabric.

After you are finished embroidering, cut out the neck pillow pieces, both the solid and the print.

Place the neck pillow pieces right sides together and, starting about 11/2" from the center back, stitch the pieces together  using a 1/4" seam allowance.  Leave a 3-inch opening for turning and stuffing.
Clip the seam allowances on the curved parts of the seams, being careful not to clip your stitching line.

Turn the pillow right side out.

Stuff the pillow with the polyfill until it is firm, but still soft.

Stitch the opening closed
