Instructions:
From each fabric, cut a rectangle that is 7" wide by 19"
long. From the solid fabric, cut two more rectangles that
are 7" wide by 12" tall.
On one of the 7" by 12"
rectangles sew out the embroidery so that the bottom
edge of the embroidery is 11/2" from the bottom edge of
the fabric. |
|
|

|
|
Layer the long rectangles so that the
solid fabric is on the bottom with the right side down,
then the batting, then the print with the right side up.
Fold each of the smaller rectangles in
half and place the folded fabric so that the fold is
facing in. The folded fabric will form the pockets
of the caddy. |
|
|

|
|
Secure the pockets in place by basting
along the very edges of the pockets and through the
fabric layers. Sew a line of satin stitches up the
center of the unembroidered pocket to create 2
smaller pockets. |
|
|
 |
|
Encase all the raw fabric edges with
the bias tape.
Catch both edges
of the the tape with one pass of your sewing machine by
placing the wider edge of the tape on the underside, and
making sure that the center fold of the tape is on the
outside edge as you go around the border of the caddy.
Place this caddy over the arm of Dad's
favorite chair. He'll love it!
