When choosing designs for cozies, choose ones that are light and simple. Designs that are too complex will flatten the neoprene or foam cozy.

A template is a printout of a design, and it's an excellent tool to plan where to stitch.

Print a template of the design from your embroidery software.
If you do not have embroidery software, Wilcom's TrueSizer is
a free program to use.

After you have the template where you want to stitch the design, mark the center point as well as the vertical and horizontal axis lines.

Usually it's best to hoop fabric and items when embroidering. But cozies are a bit too thick to hoop.

Instead, hoop medium-weight cutaway stabilizer, and use spray adhesive to affix the cozy to the stabilizer.

Spray a piece of cutaway stabilizer with temporary adhesive (like Gunold's KK100).
